low blood pressure hypotension problem?
I have really low blood pressure, well i think i do, it is 90/70 which i know is normal in small adults and children but i am not a small tiny framed adult nor a child, i also faint easily and am extremely sensitive to heat, it makes me fall over and very very dizzy.
does it sound like the cause is hypotension? low blood pressure or is it actually normal?

I wouldn’t say it’s normal. You just described a scenario that depicts low blood pressure and its symptoms. See a doctor, then continue monitoring yourself.

Hi All, newbie wanting to know what is going on…?
After finishing a long course of steroids, I got a whole pile of hyper-glycemic symptoms, tingling fingers & toes, blurred vision & floaters, dry parched mouth, terrible thirst etc. I had two fasting test 2 years ago which came back at 5.8. Since then I have dieted and exercised furiously, and lost 30 kg, dropped my blood pressure to low normal levels and reduced my body fat, again to low-normal levels. The symptoms have all dissappeared, and subsequent fasting blood sugar readings came back at 5.4 and then recently 5.1. I do however still feel that my blood sugars spike sharply after eating, if I eat too many carbs I get a flushed dry face and then later feel very sleepy. Does anyone know if this spiking can also be reduced / brought under control? It can’t be doing me any good.
By the way, here’s a bit of info. on a food that has been proven to reduce plaque build up in arteries. Heavy reading but serious info.

How do i clean my system of Marijuana/THC?

Does Sprint lie just to get you off the phone?
I went through 5 HTC Touch Pro’s in a 3 week period. Finally a Sprint rep told me that if I renew my contract for 1 year they will send me a NIB (new in box) TP (Touch Pro) I agreed. Then they called saying they have none, so if i renew my contract for 2 years they’ll send me the Touch Pro 2, NIB! I said yes. They sent me a refurbished one. I called back they said, “I SEE IT IN THE NOTES” we are very sorry, we’ll send you a NIB one right away! It never came. I called back, and the rep said there is nothing in your notes about receiving a NIB phone!
So tell me is the 2rd rep lying that its not in the notes? Was the 2nd rep lying that she’ll send me a new one? Was she lying she saw it in the notes? DID SHE DELETE IT?!?!?!? Was the first rep lying when she said she’d send a new one?!?!?!? ARE THEY ALL LYING?!?!??!?!

I had severe rsv as a infant what does that have to do with strong immunity later on?
when i got rsv i was in a oxygen tent for two months plus treatments for the next 6 months and what is confusing is that infants who had rsv usually have numerous breathing issues in their life but from what i’ve noticed and been told over the years is that it was the opposite thing my immune system grew stronger and efficient over time i have never had a flu shot medical records prove that and yet being next to people who have severe flu symptoms i still never caught it not even a sign of it what i want to know is that is there a connection between infants with rsv and rare cases of “super Immunity” if i would say because i never get sick.

There is no such thing as “super immunity”, I rarely get sick myself, and I did not have RSV, and asbergers syndrome is a neurological condition, it’s not a complete gift without drawbacks (the difficulty and challenges with socialization).
You most likely have certain genetics that make it more difficult for the more common viruses to take over your cell and use it’s replicative organelles to redistribute itself.

Why do they party all night at the hospital?
I went to the hospital for a very high fever. For three nights they were as loud as possible. All the nurses would yell and scream and tell jokes. Then all the Phillipino Nurses would yell and scream and tell jokes in Tagalog. Then all the Mexican Nurses would yell and scream and tell jokes in Spanish. All in the middle of the night. Then they all took turns slamming doors. The last straw was this guy who drove this miniature street sweeper down the hall. It was the size of a refridgerator on its side. He drove up and down for a half hour at 2:00 AM. Any time I would fall asleep, they would wake me to take my blood pressure and temperature. And it was freezing, and I had one blanket that was like a sheet. And it took four hours for the guy to get me one skinny little blanket and I said I had the chills. I just got home. I am going to sleep. You can’t sleep at the hospital. Why don’t they think sleep is part of healing?
HA! That’s funny, but I bet it wasn’t to you that night. I guess the nurses have to entertain themselves when everyone is sleeping. It’s less crowded at night so the janitor can run his street sweeper down the halls without running into a patient and getting the hospital sued.

What is the best stethoscope for an emt?
I’m an emt student right now, and am guessing that the stethoscopes we get in the kits we buy aren’t the greatest. But should I spend the money for the cardiologist grade, I’ve heard Littmann is the best, or is that really not necessary for emt/paramedic work? I figured I would just stick with the one I have now through the rest of class, even though it’s kind of long for me. I’m only 5’2”
I have found the best steth for use in EMS is any half decent single tubing steth. Boundtree and EMS Supply sells Precision Scopes which I purchase for my trucks as they have good tone range, are really comfortable, sturdy and single tube. Double tubes will bang together and cause artifact noise, plus two tubes pick up twice the road noise and vibrations of the single tubes. Don’t waste your money on expensive steths as they are 1: way too sensitive for EMS scenes and transports, 2: pick up way too muck artifact with road noise 3: are way, way, way too expensive as you WILL LOSE several steths in the lifetime of your EMS career. I have been a street monkey for 30 years and can not begin to tell you the number of steths I have lost, both expensive ones I’ve bought, given to me or provided by well meaning managers to cheap disposable gimmick steths provided as bribes or door prizes….all end up the same….LOST on some go to hell run where chaos is common occurrence. Ovarian cyst & diabetes?
hi, I’m an 18-year old female and about 2 weeks ago, I went to the doctor and found out I have a small cyst on my right ovary. Now I’m worried. Also, I’ve been having urinary problems like I feel like I can’t completely empty out my bladder and sometimes when I do, it burns. I know for a fact I don’t have any STDs, UTIs, or bladder infections because I got tested. So what could this be?
Should I expect pain because of the cyst?
Could this be related to diabetes? I hear that glucose damages the bladder’s sensory nerves and ovarian cysts can cause diabetes to develop. Should i demand a blood test?
And could the urinary problems be related to the cyst?
It is quite possible you have diabetes, but only a glucose tolerance test will tell you 100% for sure.
If you have that much pain and etc, it could also be PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease). This can cause infertility and possible some of your symptoms.
Contact your doctor in the morning to get an appointment for testing.
Don’t guess at this. It’s your health, your life on the line.
And yes, I read that many women who have cysts on their ovaries had pain.
It would be better to lose an ovary and not develop diabetes or some other serious problem than to keep waiting.

How Does Exercise Affect Blood Sugar Levels?
Normally, insulin is released from the pancreas when the amount of sugar (glucose) in the blood increases, such as after eating. Insulin stimulates the liver and muscles to take in excess glucose. This results in a lowering of the blood sugar level.
When exercising, the body needs extra energy or fuel (in the form of glucose) for the exercising muscles. My mother just came to live with us and she has Type 2 diabetes and High Blood pressure. Her body swells too when she is upright for more than a few hours.

Diet does not actually have that much of an impact on blood pressure.
On the other hand, diet does make a huge difference in the management of diabetes.
A truly diabetes-friendly diet is a low carb diet.
Please do not use anything labelled ‘diabetic’ unless it is also labelled ‘low carb’.
Carbs are what raise blood sugar, so diabetics should severely limit their carbs.
Recipes that are low in fat but high in carbs are NOT diabetes friendly. The vast majority of ‘diabetic’ recipes are in fact high in carbs and will raise blood sugar.
Google low carb diet for helpful suggestions. But basically you are looking at combinations of protein and non-starchy vegetables. For example, salmon in dill sauce with cabbage and peas (no potatoes); roast chicken with carrots and broccoli (no potatoes or rice), pork chops with zucchini and cauliflower (no starchy veg).
BTW, I myself have both diabetes and high blood pressure, neither of which is treatable with weight loss nor diet. And believe me, I have tried. My blood pressure is currently in excellent control (100/65 last time it was checked) with a cocktail of pills. The best dietary intervention for Type 2 diabetes is a low carb diet.

Teachers – what do you do?
School year starts and a student that is new to you has potentially life saving medication. An hour ago you, or your administration, noticed the form is missing, undated, a signature is missing, something that negates your permission to administer medication.
The child has a seizure, diabetic low, allergic reaction – - something that needs immediate attention. You’re not in the city, you’re in the outskirts, and ambulances aren’t there in under 10 minutes. The medication is there, and labeled, with the child’s name on it. You know (be it by the incorrect form, community knowledge, classmates or teachers) that this child is in fact allergic/diabetic/seizure prone.
What do you do? Does health trump legalities or vice versa?
i give the medication. but i once took a first aid class with a bunch of daycare providers and preschool teachers, and when the teacher asked if we’d administer one kid’s epipen to another kid if the second kid had an anaphylactic reaction but no epipen of his own, i said heck yeah, and everyone else told me they would never in a million years do that because it would risk their license. apparently they’d rather watch the kid die in front of their eyes…. or maybe if it came down to it they’d actually do the right thing. who knows.

Type 2 diabetes and low a1c level?
I have type 2 diabetes and they have confirmed that with 2 fasting blood glucose test, 2 oral glucose tolerance test, and a random blood glucose test, and all of the test came back with levels very high above normal. But they are curious as to why my a1c are always normal as a person that does not have diabetes. Do anyone know why this happens. My levels are in the 5% range all the time.
As the A1c is an average, you might be having equally low sugars in addition to high sugars.
While spikes of blood sugars greater then 300 are not ideal, the goal of treatment for diabetes is long term prevention, and the A1c is better at evaluating you for long period blood sugars.
The only other thing I can think of is if you’ve had a blood transfusion or take a drug called dapsone.

We (her daughters) always take the pictures for her, but my sisters are leaving for college soon and I’m no longer in the house so we want to get her one for mothers day.

ok so 4 about a few weeks now ive been feelings really shaky n my vision kinda sucks now. i cant look at a bright screen for long without my eyes starting 2 hurt. i tested myself with some blood sugar tester thing n it was low…i also have these symptoms whichi read are signs of diabetes..

Frequent urination
Unexplained weight loss (even though you are eating and feel hungry)

I think you had better make an appointment for a complete physical with CBC blood workup and Lipids panel work up!!
Does some one in your family have diabetes? that would make it 20% chance more of you getting it. You do seem to have most of the symptoms. But only a doctor can diagnose with a blood test called HbA1c!!
Remember to get copies of all blood work results from the doctors office and google all the lines on it so you know what they mean.

How can I pass an instant Urine drug test testing for THC?
I’m 5’2″ and 95 lbs. I’m a very light smoker and only do it once a week if not then once every few weeks. My parents want to test me every week for weed. Its just a cup with a stick that they dip into my urine. I was wondering if I could substitute clean urine from someone else or if I could easily get it out of my body since I am considered under weight by my BMI.
If you have any ideas let me know. I only want the ones that will work with a 100% chance of me appearing clean.

You can use someone elses urine, unless your test measures the temperature. If so, you may want to use fresh urine.
Another route is to take niacin. You can buy these pills at a local supermarket or healthcare shop. Take 1 or 2 a night for 2-3 days before the test, drink as much water as possible, and you should pass. Even then, you want to lay off the weed for about 3-4 days. So smoke a couple days per week after the test. Being 95 pounds is to your benefit, so you may be able to get by on more.
However, if you go the niacin route, this stuff makes you burn and itch somewhat for 30-45 min after consumption, and makes your skin all red. It does work, but the more frequently you use it, its not as effective.
Theres no full-proof plan to pass a drug test, although there may be some special formula you can buy. They sell these everywhere, some work better than others.
Drink a lot of water and use niacin if you must, but dont overdo it as frequent usage will make it less effective.

My daughter was bitten by a snake when she was young by a neighbors home. At the time they said it was a garter snake and no cause for alarm. Anitvenom was not administered since garter snakes usually don’t cause problems. She is 22 years old now and is showing signs of hemotoxity. Coughing up black -which is a problem in snake bites– since when I was bitten in 2000 by a pitviper..what they told me was that if I cough up black to let them know at the hospital.. I didn’t . however my daughter is .. I now would have a immunogen to vipers in my system and could it be activated in my breast milk if I were to become preganant to save my daugther.. I am afraid that I will lose her if there is no way to stop the hemotoxic venom in her.. I don’t know how many years she can live with this disease?? Is there a way to stop this disease??
As the previous answerer noted, it’s not clear from your question whether your daughter is coughing up black stuff from her lungs or vomiting black stuff from her stomach. In either case, unless she was bitten by a pit viper recently, that is not the issue. If there was any venom from her childhood bite, it is long since gone.
I can’t think of any simple reason for someone coughing up black stuff from their lungs (other than the obvious–having inhaled black stuff). So I’m going to assume she is vomiting the black stuff. So-called “coffee-grounds emesis” is an indication of internal bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract. You see this with certain venomous snake bites because they cause internal bleeding (I think pit viper venom has thrombin-activating effects that results in a disseminated intravascular coagulation scenario–I might be wrong). There are however, other more likely reasons for an upper GI bleed than a snake bite.
In any case, your daughter needs to go to an emergency room as soon as possible. Obviously, I haven’t examined your daughter, and there is only a limited amount of information in your question. Based on this limited information, I’m guessing your daughter is bleeding internally and should have an upper GI endoscopy (a camera is put down her throat to look for bleeding in the esophagus, stomach, etc). Depending on how much blood she has lost, she may need a blood transfusion.

thought it was a blood pressure medicine. Pharmacy fill metformin by mistake. Took it for two weeks until went to Dr. and he said to stop taking it.
I find it hard to believe a pharmacist can mix up a BP medication with a diabetic medication – was he/she new to the job? If so their orders should have been checked by someone else.
If you take diabetic medication, your body will utilise (burn) more sugar and this means your organs are not getting the glucose (sugar) they need. In rare cases, people can go into a coma and die. All diabetic medications (including Insulin) work in different ways as well.
There is no such thing as ‘reverse diabetes’ – I don’t know who coined that term. If you have had no side effects, and your Dr feels you are OK, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Always check your medications with the pharmacist before taking them home – I do and I am a nurse! (I have been given wrong doses of medication by pharmacists & this is just as dangerous).

What are we going to do with all the obese?
I watched the excellent OPB special tonight about the current and growing diabetes epidemic in the US mainly caused by the epidemic of obesity. It doesnt sound good. Some are saying the diabetes epidemic could destroy not only the health care system of the country but also the economy of the whole US. Obese people in short are destroying the country. What should be done? Any good ideas to help them FAST? SHould we ban or very heavily tax all junk food?
well personally, i think we should show them a picture of what they will end up looking like in a few years time, then they might get the hint and cut back a bit… my brother says “roll them down a hill”…
