Is there a correlation between sleep apnea and bradycardia?
Yes there is. I have tachycardia and bradycardia and the cardiologist recommended getting tested for sleep apnea (I know I have it) and getting the CPAP machine.
Often I would doze off feeling fine and wake up after 60 seconds or so having an episode of bradycardia. Mine was controlled with medication.

You’ll be put on Metformin to help with insulin resistance. I’m type 2 as well and right now all we’re doing is working with a nutrionist to help me with what I eat and I’m on 2000mg of Met. You’ll have to eat like a diabetic and cut a lot of carbs out of your diet. The only problems I have now is when my blood sugar drops. My hands start to shake and I get really cranky. I also have to exercise, get my eye sight checked once a year, and be very careful of my feet. I’m not on a blood meter, I was during my only pregnancy because I had gestational diabetes. If you use the meter it’s not the end of the world, instead, it’s incredibly helpful because it lets you know when your blood sugars are too low and you need to get some protein in your body. I recommend the Insulin Resistant Diet, I bought mine off of Amazon for $12 including shipping. It has really great recipes that encourage me to stay on my diet. Get used to no more candies, fast foods, and high carb snacks. It’s hard but once you get the hang of things, you’ll be fine.
If they put you on Metformin you’ll have a lot of diarrhea (especially if you eat too many carbs), cotton mouth, and some friends of mine have reported breast tenderness and an increase in their libidos.

my little cousin is a diabetic and shes 5 years old. i want her to be able to eat things that other kids are eating..like cookies. so what are some cookies that include splenda?
One of the best recipes I have used is 1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg and 1 cup Splenda. Mix. Put rounded teaspoons on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Since ovens are different make sure to check your cookies because they will burn easily.
Also at Super Walmart you should be able to buy Clabber Girl sugar substitute. It is in a pale green bag close to Altern(Walmarts brand of Splenda). On the back of the bag is an awsome chocolate chip cookie recipe. If you go the where the chocolate chips are Hersey’s now has sugar free chocolate chips in bags. Another item to look for is in the honey section. There is a sugar free honey made by Honey Tree. It is wonderful.
Oh, by the way, Altern is just as good as Splenda abd over a dollar cheaper!!! One more thing you can add nut to the chocolate chip cookie recipe and It will give your little cousin a diferent cookie.

so my last drink was about 21 hours ago… its 230 in the morning right now… im trying to quit drinking right now. i`ve had bad withdrawal all day with cold sweaty hands and feet, anxiety and high blood pressure but none the less it seems all worth it. but the liquier store closed at 2 and about half hour before it closed i went and got some vodka because i was panicing wondering what i would do if it got really bad and the store is closed. so having it by my side is a bit of relief and i dont plan on drinking it. but i was just wondering if i get bad anxiety again and i drink just a bit to cool off (not to get drunk) if that would be fine or would it just make the withdrawal wrose when it wheres off? like can i slowly let my body adjust to this?
Be careful. As I’m sure you’re aware, it’s extremely difficult to ‘just have one or two’. But it’s also very dangerous to go cold turkey if you’re physically very addicted. The best is to work with your doctor- there are medications and supplements that can facilitate quitting without risk. I went cold turkey and had heart palpitations, depersonalization, wild sleep disturbances, blood pressure issues, horrible tremors (shaking so badly I had to crawl to the telephone), really bad digestion issues, sweating, etc. I know where you’re coming from.
But there is also the very strong possibility that your symptoms are simply anxiety- these are classic anxiety/panic symptoms; you could be expecting the worst, and you’re so worried about it that your body is responding.

Blood sugar question?
So for the past few days I’ve been feeling a little ehh. I’ve been having these horrible headaches, bouts of nauseousness and dizziness and fatigue. I’ve been feeling hungry a lot also. So today I decided to take my blood sugar . at 4:00 it was 101 I had ate dinner and everything,now I take it 3 hours later and its 68. I don’t normally suffer from headaches or anything. I’m wondering is that a normal blood sugar or reaction? I don’t feel the greatest right now but I don’t want to eat anything else although that helps relieve a few of my symptoms, all this eating seems unhealthy. Also I’m not diabetic.
My symptoms matched up with some of those of hypoglycemia, which is what I got when I googled my symptoms therefore that is why I’m testing my blood sugar. I don’t HAVE to have diabetes to test my blood sugar but I don’t usually get headaches and these combination of symptoms when typed in lead me to that.

for diagnostic criteria (to diagnose diabetes)

these numbers may vary a little from others depending on the testing method and other factors. but this you a good idea of what normal should be.
because you didn’t do a true three hour ggt. and if you feel that blood sugar might be your problem, you really should get the proper test performed. your doctor can order it and it is relatively inexpensive.

The difference between the highest and lowest blood pressure readings during a given day may vary by as much as 50/25 mm Hg. When a blood pressure is taken 1st thing upon awakening the goal is 115/075 mm Hg or less. There is a linear increase in cardiovascular risk above this level and for every 20/10 mm Hg increase above 115/075 mm Hg there is a doubling of cardiovascular risk. Again this applies to a 1st thing in the morning reading and not a reading taken at a physician’s office. The readings taken in a medical setting are usually the highest blood pressure recorded during any given day. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. How can I fix things this is a long one?
You see I was and still am marriad and you see about a year ago I was working nights trying to support us. Well my wife did not work nights and felt that since her mom who also worked nights did not seem to need much sleep that neither did I. Well she kept making me get up to drive her places the she did need to get to, but I didn’t get my sleep and what I did sucked because of my sleep apnea. my demenor went down hill when she would get frustrated trying to wake me up and then would end up yellin at me. then I would yell and things sucked. well we still love eachother alot I took a pay cut to stop working nights. but now I know that she has been sleepin with someone else that she dosent care about and she says she still loves me and I can forgive the sleepin with the other guy because I miss her so much. Now I AM NOT some love struck teenager nor am I claiming that I did everything right I just want her back PS please DO NOT COMMENT ON MY SPELLING I am tired
Well, if the marriage can be salvaged then you need to do something sweet and win her back.
I think the first step would be to communicate with her and let her know that you did need the sleep and that was why you were “Out of sorts” and grumpy.
Try sending or taking her some flowers and just spend some time talking.

I’ve seen a gray ribbon with a drop of blood on it. I’m not sure if its very “official” like the pink ribbon is for breast cancer. I think gray is also used for more medical conditions too.

What is a good herb to lower blood pressure.?
I frequently use herbal medication and find it to be very effective. I know raspberry leaf tea is good for lowering blood pressure in women when they are pregnant. I believe it accomplishes this by leaching iron from the body. What would be a good herb for me, a 40yr old male to use to quickly reduce my blood pressure. If not for BP perhaps a good herb used as a diuretic?
I suggest looking into garlic for hypertension. Garlic is safe and widely used for many issues. Uva-ursi is the most commonly known herb for a diuretic.

Swelling of feet with gestational diabetes?
Im 35 weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes. My feet and hands have been swellin gup but usually go down when i wake up in the morning. This morning they look like they did when i went to sleep. Now they are even bigger. Should i worry about Preeclampsia?
My feet were so swollen the last month of pregnancy that I had one pair of flip-flops I could wear!! I also had gestational diabetes. Preeclampsia would be more of a concern if you gain an exceptional amount of weight between doctor appointments and your blood pressure gets higher. The doctor will also do a test of the protein in your urine. Just mention it next visit to ease your fears. Prop up your feet as much as possible to help some with the swelling. You are almost there!!!

it will great if i can get some suggestions. i was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and i am looking for a meter. i have been doing research online about which is the best one.However, it seems like every meter have some good and bad feedbacks. The three types of meter i had been looking at is One touch, Freestyle, and Accu-check Aviva. i want something where the strips will be affordable and the most important is accuracy. i wanna make sure that my results are accurate. Infact i am also getting a free any one freestyle lite meter soon. Please help me as what will be good. Help please…..
I’ve used all those brands and a few others. I like the Freestyle best. Mine have all been accurate. They have great customer support, are very fast and easy to use, and allow testing on your arms and legs, not just your fingers. I find finger testing very painful because of arthritis, so being able to test on my arms really helps.
There is one more feature about Freestyle that makes it a real winner – the have the smallest blood sample requirement of all the meters out there!
That means that you don’t waste test strips. If you don’t put enough blood on the strip with One Touch and other meters, you get an error message and have to discard the strip. Each one costs from 80 cents to a buck, so you don’t want to waste them.
With One Touch, which requires a large sample, I was throwing out lots of money. Same thing with other meters, too many error messages.
With Freestyle, I get enough blood every time because it requires a TINY sample, only 0.3 microliter. I love it! No more wasted strips.

What happens if we took accuretic, amlodipine & astrix tablets altogether ? death? anything serious ?
I was wonder what side effects would happen. I understand all 3 could be used for high blood pressure cure but would any lead to certain death ?
The only direct interaction I could discover was between accuretic and astrix. Mixing these may cause a decrease in thier antihypertensive, diuretic, and natiuretic efficacy. In other words, consult your doctor before you take these together. Also, they may have undocumented interactions.
